In case this solution works for you, I have XB7 run directly to 24 port Gb "smart" switch and all device use (incrementally) the same 10.0.0. IP address. The orange or red stripe port is actually a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port on the X7s and X8s. If the device is 1Gbps, it should be green -- well, if you've got a decent Ethernet cable. Cat6 at least. Cat 7/8 is better. Hardware does the speed negotiate.
